Renowned journalist and cultural character Kamal Lohani, who examined Covid-19 optimistic, died at a metropolis hospital at the moment on the age of 86.

He was present process therapy on the ICU of Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital in Mohakhali.

“We declared him dead at 10:00am,” Faruk Ahmed, director of the hospital, informed The Daily Star.

Yesterday, Kamal Lohani’s daughter Urmi Lohani mentioned her father was admitted to Health and Hope Hospital on Wednesday for kidney and lungs-related problems, and was on life help on the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.

“We found out in the morning that he is Covid-19 positive,” Urmi mentioned.

Kamal was then shifted to Sikder Medical College in Gulshan as his situation deteriorated. In the afternoon, he was taken to Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital.

Kamal, aged round 86, had earlier been admitted to Health and Hope hospital in mid-May with kidney and lung issues.

He was taken again dwelling after two weeks of therapy. “But we were compelled to take him to the hospital again as his condition deteriorated drastically,” his son Sagar Lohani mentioned yesterday.
