National Film Award winner Dallywood actress Sadika Parvin Popy has been diagnosed with coronavirus (Covid-19).
Popy was tested at Khulna Medical College Hospital a few days ago with a fever and other symptoms of Covid-19 including respiratory problems and the report arrived Wednesday, he told reporters by telephone on Friday night.
He currently lives alone in the area where he lives in Shibbari in conjunction with Khulna.
Poppy’s father Mia Kabir Hossain Tulu said on Friday night Poppy had been living in his home since March 13.
During this time, the actor distributed aid to the poor local people.
Popy began her career with a showbiz program called ‘Lux Ananda Bichitra’ in 1995. She was featured in the 1997 film Holie, starring Omar Sunny and directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar and on television in Nayak, directed by Shahidul Islam Khan .
She has received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress three times for films Karagar (2003), Megher Koley Roud (2008) and Gangajatra (2009).
